Another Monday means another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.

Today we will go to the top Bartlesville High cross-country runner of the 2024 season, Bruin senior Russell Miller.

Miller has been running cross county since he was in the sixth grade. As with many Bartlesville runners, he was hooked on longer-distance running after competing in the Bruin Mile.

Miller talks about being in the Bruin Mile. 

After being in the Bartlesville cross country program for seven years, Miller says he has formed a bond with longtime cross country coach David Ayres. Ayres is also one of Miller’s teachers at the high school.

Miller talks about his relationship with Ayres. 

Miller finished out his Bruin cross country career with a 36^th place finish at 6A State a bit more than a week ago.

Miller is one of six brothers and sisters in his family. He says he enjoys being in a large family. 

Miller says at the conclusion of high school he will go on a two-year mission before heading to BYU for college.
