Ava Boman, Dewey Volleyball standout named Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week
It's Monday which means it's time for Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week powered by Tri County Tech.
Dewey Volleyball experienced a resurgence in 2024 and a big reason why is Senior Ava Boman. Ava starred in many different aspects from her Setter and outside hitter position, and Bulldoggers Head Coach Haylee Harris says she was a great leader this season.
Dewey was coming off a difficult 1-23 season in 2023, but greatly improved this season and caught fire towards the end of the . Boman says though that their first win against Baha in early August was special.
When looking back at her career at Dewey, Boman says the closeness of team was special.
Outside of the court, Boman excels in the classroom and says that Mathematics and plans on getting her doctorate down the line in her academic career. She plans on attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah next fall.
