Nowata made the trip Southeast to Colcord to take on the Hornets Friday night to do battle for a 2A District title. The Ironmen would come away with a split result as the ladies lost 50-33, but the guys were able to pull one out in the night cap, 63-55.

On the guys side, this one was back and forth early in the first half. Nowata trailed by two at the end of the first quarter but fired back to take a 27-24 lead at the half.

The Ironmen offense though came alive in the third quarter. They only made one three in the entire first half and then turned around and made four threes in the third-quarter, with Michael Prince making three of them, including this one.

Kaleb Bashford was once again the engine for the Ironmen offense. He dropped in 28 points including 12 of those points in the fourth quarter and this huge bucket in the final frame to help extend the Ironmen lead.

Nowata guys would hold on to grab the District title for the second year in a row. Nowata guys advance now to a 7:30 Regionals matchup next Thursday against the winner of Haworth and Howe in a non-elimination contest. The lady Ironmen cannot suffer another defeat, or their season will come to an end.
