WCS at Barnsdall to Begin Basketball
There is one local basketball game on Monday evening, featuring two smaller schools with high expectations.
Wesleyan Christian School takes on Barnsdall. This is both the girl’s and boy’s openers on each side of the contest.
At WCS, Mustang head coach Steven Cooks is in his third season. The same group of athletes that carried the Wesleyan Christian football team to four straight playoff appearances, now sets their sights on the hardwood.
WCS went 17-8 last season, but fell short of qualifying for area, something that has not been done in school history.
Cooks talks about getting over that hump.
Barnsdall’s guys are coming off an 8-15 season but return most of their production for head coach Wade Corder. Also of note, Wesleyan Christian School will field a girls’ basketball team after not having enough players to do so a year ago.
A 6:30 start time in Barnsdall for the double-header.
