Patriot Athlete of the Week: Trey White

It is another Monday, which means it is time for another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.

This week we highlight a standout senior on one of the best winter sports teams in the area, the Wesleyan Christian School boys’ basketball club. The featured senior – Trey White.

White is a longtime Mustang basketball player, who says he isn’t super surprised about the team’s hot start. White talks about his background in basketball.

White says he grew up idolizing Russell Westbrook and now loves to watch Shae Gilgeous-Alexander. He is a Thunder fan and says he likes the way the club plays together and how good OKC is on defense.

As far is this year’s WCS team, the Mustangs are 10-1 after losing most of last year’s production to graduation. White talks about his team’s start to 2025.

Despite losing several key starters off a team that was one win shy of state last year, White says he was not stunned by the success of the team. He says last year’s role players have stepped up in a big way.

White says he would like to play basketball at the next level following his graduation in May but is not far along in that process. He does have an idea of what he would like to study.

Wesleyan Christian will wrap up play in the Morrison Tournament on Monday against the host-club Morrison in the fifth-place game. The Mustangs lost to Silo and blew out Pawnee in two games earlier this week.

Congrats to Wesleyan Christian School basketball standout Trey White, this week’s Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.
