Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball has their opponent set for the opening round of the NAIA national tournament.

As a 1-seed in the Liston quadrant, the Eagles will take on the 16-seed Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) in the first round. The Knights closed out the regular season and conference tournament on a five-game winning streak. They won the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) tournament to advance to the national stage.

Head coach Donnie Bostwick talks about a hot SUNO team.

This will be the first time ever that OKWU will host a national tournament game at the Mueller Sports Center. The Eagles previously hosted their first ever conference championship game on Tuesday in a one point win over Friends University to win the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) tournament.

Bostwick talks about the crowd for the conference championship and hopes to see the same against SUNO.

OKWU will also host the 8-seed Montana Tech taking on the 9-seed Oklahoma City University (OCU).

The opening rounds of the national tournament start on March 13.
