OKU Track and Field Season Nearing Start

Track and field season at Oklahoma Union High School is nearing its start, and both Cougar teams bring back a high standard of excellence this spring.
 
On the boy's side, OKU finished sixth in the 2A state meet last year as a team. Head coach Kirk Jackson talks about the expectations and outlook of the boy's team this season.
 
A few highlights on the boy's side include high jumper Jensen Anderson, long jumper Colten Wickham and runner Joseph Lindner, they are all returning this season. Wickham, Anderson and Lindner also compete in a handful of relays together.
 
The calling card on the girl's side comes from their distance group. Laryn Jackson and Makenna Goemmer, who have led the cross country team to back-to-back fourth place finishes in the state the last two seasons have led the way. Jackson talks about their leadership.
 
Oklahoma Union's first meet of the outdoor season is April 2 in Jay.
