Bartlesville High was swept on the road at Muskogee in a basketball double-header on Tuesday, as both the girls and guys couldn’t grab enough fire power late to overcome the Roughers.

On the girl’s side, BHS fell to Muskogee 64-47.

Sami Shaeffer scored 17 second half points en route to 22 for the game, but BHS never seriously threatened down the stretch. The loss drops the Lady Bruins to 0-2 in District play and 4-2 overall.

Meanwhile the Bruin guys battled the Roughers but lost 58-48.

Bartlesville dug itself out of a 10-point hole early but a run late in the third quarter to early in the fourth gave Muskogee the win.

The initial Bruin run started after a switch to zone defense. This three from Trae Collins got BHS within striking distance.

Bartlesville trailed by two at halftime. Later in the third quarter it was Hudson Eads to tie the game.

However, Muskogee would build its lead back to 12 early in the fourth. BHS cut it down to six but could get no closer.

Bartlesville is off until this coming Tuesday.
