The Bartlesville High girls’ basketball team is one win from the 6A State Tournament, as BHS won a thriller on Thursday night against Jenks in an elimination contest in Shawnee.

BHS topped the Trojans 34-32 to stay alive in the 6A playoffs. Bartlesville will now face Broken Arrow on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 for a spot in State.

It was a grind-it-out type of game, with neither team able to separate. Jenks led 32-30 with two minutes remaining, but Bartlesville would end the game on a 4-0 run to win it.

The biggest basket in the sequence came off this steal from Kenzie Denny, leading to an Emma Zimmerman layup that would win it.

Zimmerman had a game-high 13 points.

After a Bartlesville defensive stop, BHS missed two free throws leaving the door cracked open.

Jenks had a shot in the air that would have won it at the buzzer, but it fell short. Here is how the final call sounded Thursday night on KWON.

Broken Arrow lost its winner’s bracket game handily, as PC North thumped BA, 62-36. The loss sends the Tigers to the consolation bracket to play Bartlesville on Saturday.

BHS is 2-1 in three previous matchups this season against the Tigers.

We will have that game for you on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 with an audio livestream on KWONTV.com Saturday afternoon.
