Dewey Powerlifting in Postseason Meets

Dewey powerlifting is in their final meets of the season. 
 
The girls powerlifting team completed their state meet on Monday, with the boys regional starting up on Friday.
 
On the girl's side, Dewey sent just one athlete to the state meet in Durant on Monday. Kyla Overton, one of Dewey softball's best hitters this past fall, won the state championship in the heavyweight division. Overton signed to the University of Central Arkansas for softball.

Overton deadlifted 420 pounds.
 
On the boy's side, Dewey is sending a handful of athletes to the regional meet in Hilldale on Friday. Last year, four Dewey boys qualified for the state meet in El Reno. Xavier Bright, Kaiden Fowler, Ryder Stanbro and Methiase Walker were the qualifiers.
 
Sapulpa talked about the competitve mentality of his athletes.
 
The state powerlifting meet will take place in El Reno on March 14.
