Bartlesville High split with Broken Arrow, as the Lady Bruins won and the Bruin guys lost to a couple good BA clubs on Tuesday night from Bruin Field House.

On the girl’s side, BHS almost lost a nearly 20-point lead, but held on to the beat the Lady Tigers, 49-37.

The Lady Bruins had a 19-point lead late in the second quarter, but Broken Arrow staged quite the comeback. Bartlesville had 17 turnovers in the final 16 minutes, which let the Tigers get within five.

Bartlesville kept a double-digit lead throughout most of it because of solid defense. This find from Sami Shaeffer to Shaylyn Ishem was one of the best plays of the night.

Lady Bruins grabbed their third District win and improve to 9-6 overall. BHS girls head to Miami for a tournament at NEO, which will still run Thursday-Saturday.

Meanwhile the Bruin guys again showed moments against Broken Arrow, but the Tigers pulled away, 59-34.

BHS had a few leads in the first quarter and trailed by eight at halftime. However, a shorthanded Bruin club scored only 12 points in the second half. Most of the starters did not play down the stretch.

Bartlesville got three early threes from Trae Collins. This find to Sutton Huff was a standout in the second quarter.

The Bruin guys get going with their tournament at Will Rogers High School on Wednesday afternoon. BHS has a 1:30 tip off in an event that was moved up a day. BHS will play four games in four days.

BHS and McClain coming up on Wednesday afternoon on Sports Talk 99.1 FM – KPGM. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
