Dewey Track and Field Underway at 3A State Meet

Dewey track and field is underway at the 3A state track meet in Catoosa this weekend with one day to go.
After a preliminary filled Friday, some results were finalized with others to be determined.
On the boys side first, the stellar duo of Keidon Holt and Kavery Weathers finished first and second in the prelims of 110-meter hurdles, respectively. Weathers finished ahead of Holt in the 300-meter hurdles preliminary race on Friday. Both runners have qualified for Saturday's finals.
Other qualifiers include Tra Hicks in the 400-meter dash, he finished fifth in his prelim race.
On the girls side, Chanley Herren qualified for the finals of 100-meter hurdles with a sixth place finish in the prelims. Camrin Jones finished first in the prelims in 300-meter hurdles, following a regional championship in the category in Chisholm last weekend.
Jones took home the first state championship of the meet for Dewey in long jump. In discus, Kyla Overton finished fifth and Lacey Nichols finished 13th.
The 3A state track and field meet wraps up Saturday at Catoosa High School.
