Bartlesville High baseball fell in another close pitcher’s duel in game two of the Bruin’s set against Bixby on Tuesday night.

The Spartans topped BHS in a zippy game, 1-0.

It was the second one-run game in the series after the Bruins topped Bixby 2-1 on Monday night. The Bruins managed only one hit in the contest.

The knock came from Bryce Luelf on an 0-2 pitch in the top of the third.

Hudson Baker was brilliant on the mound for the Bruins. He gave up only three hits the entire game. Bixby scored its lone run on a two-out single in the third inning.

Baker went the full six innings. He gave up the three hits, two walks and struck out two. In back-to-back games Baker and DJ Thornton had their two best starts as Bruins.

There was only one base runner, a Bixby two-out walk, for both teams over the course of the final 3.5 frames and the game took 1 hour and 12 minutes.

BHS drops to 14-15 with the split.

The Bruins have only two District games left on Monday and Tuesday of next week against Putnam City North.
