OKWU Baseball Hot Late in Season

Brian McSweeney
Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball is getting hot at the right time, riding an eight game win streak with seven games left in the regular season.
The Eagles enter their second-to-last weekend of conference play with an overall record of 28-14, and a 19-10 record in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
They have scored at least seven runs in each game during the current streak, led in part by Wally Diaz with 20 home runs this season.
The Eagles are in a battle for second place in the KCAC standings with Friends University. The Eagles beat the Falcons two out of three times in a series in mid-March. OKWU won't be able to pass conference leader Kansas Wesleyan, sitting at 26-4 in conference play.
OKWU starts a three-game series with Avila on Friday at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m.
