Bartlesville Woman Charged With Assault on Officer

A Bartlesville woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly slapping a police officer's hand.
67-year-old Janice Stevenson was charged on Wednesday with assault and battery on a police officer. Stevenson also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer.
According to the Bartlesville Police Department, Stevenson was detained due to a harassment complaint. Stevenson would allegedly drive to another Bartlesville residence multiple times a night and honk her horn and play loud music. Stevenson allegedly made religious remarks about the individual.
As authorities were attempting to detain Stevenson, she allegedly slapped the officer's hand away as they were trying to shift her vehicle into park.
Stevenson will appear in court again on April 17 at 9 a.m. Her bond is set at $5,000.
