Week No. 1 and the second week overall of high school football coming up on Friday across NE Oklahoma.

One of the more impressive outcomes during Zero week this past Friday was in the eight-man ranks up in Copan. The Hornets took it to Midway during their season opener in Copan.

It was a 52-0 win to improve to 1-0 on the season.

The Hornets got things going quickly with an interception on their first defensive possession, then never looked back.

Head coach Trenton Kallenberger got his first win. He details how things went on Friday night.

Kallenberger mentioned the good plays from freshman in the victory. Those guys were playing in their first high school game.

He says the younger guys were able to step up and have a good game in large part thanks to the leadership from Copan’s core seniors.

First road game of the season on Friday night when Copan travels to Foyil.
