Pawhuska played host to the Pioneer Woman Classic on Friday night. Dewey, Rejoice Christian and Sperry also joined the scrimmage at Ormond-Beach Memorial Stadium. After teams alternated playing each other in a scrimmage like environment, Rejoice Christian played Sperry in a half game and Dewey played Pawhuska in the same game-like environment.

Pawhuska coach Matt Hennesy said the most important thing was the team got out healthy and looked good while doing it.

Hennesy said he was most impressed by the defense and said the offense showed a few mental busts at times, but is glad they were able to get exposed so they can go in and fix those issues.

The Pioneer Woman Classic is an event that has been held for seven years now. Hennesy is glad his program is able to put on such a first-class event to get the football year started.

Pawhuska gets things kicked off next week at home against Nowata. That is a game you can hear on 99.1 FM KPGM and streaming on KPGMTV.com.
