Bartlesville Football Falls in Scrimmage

It is scrimmage season for high school football across Green Country on Friday night, as most clubs in our area have their only dress rehearsal of the preseason.
The Bruins had some good moments but fell to the Comets on the scoreboard 17-0 after the 24 minutes of gameplay.
Bartlesville had two sustained drives that ended due to a turnover inside the Comet 35 and then to halftime.
The Bruin defense also showed its muscle in goal-to-go situations, forcing Bishop Kelley into two separate field goal attempts after the Comets had a first and goal.
Head coach Harry Wright after the scrimmage gave his thoughts on the night.
Quarterback Michael Kent performed well. BHS picked up three first downs in third and seven or longer on nice passes from Kent. Bartlesville also converted a big fourth down to keep a drive alive early.
Wright talks about his overall thoughts on the BHS offense.
BHS held out a handful of starters due to lingering injuries, but most are expected to be back by the opener.
Bartlesville will now have eight days off to get set for its first game of the season, another 5A opponent in Newcastle will visit Custer Stadium on Aug. 29.
