OKWU Men's Basketball Advances to National Championship Game

Brian McSweeney
For the second time in program history, Oklahoma Wesleyan men's basketball will play for a national championship after beating Freed-Hardeman on Monday night, 84-78.
OKWU got down early in the first half with Freed-Hardeman capitalizing on turnovers. That deficit was quickly erased as the Eagles carried a two point lead into the half, 42-40.
The OKWU lead stretched out as large as 15 in the second half before the Lions went on a 7-0 run to stay in it.
Dylan Philip was a force yet again for OKWU. He finished with a team high 24 points off the bench. He knocked down this three-pointer in the second half to keep the momentum with the Eagles.
The win sends Oklahoma Wesleyan to the national championship game on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Kansas City at Municipal Auditorium where they will face the College of Idaho.
Coverage of the title game can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Pregame coverage will start at 6:45.
