As we enter a new week, we name a new Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week.

This week it goes to Cooper Wood, a senior on the Dewey Bulldoggers basketball team.

Wood is one of three seniors on this year’s Dewey squad, with this season being his first as a Bulldogger in high school.

Dewey is 10-9 this season with four games left on the schedule before the playoffs. Before Wood wraps up his final season at Dewey, he will always remember the amazing atmosphere at home games.

When Wood is done at Dewey, he plans to go straight into the workforce. Wood talks about his future in welding.

Dewey will host Sperry on Monday as they dive into the final full week of the regular season.
