Dewey and Caney Valley Duel Again

For the third time this season, the Dewey Bulldoggers and Caney Valley Trojans will face off. This one will be in Ramona on Friday, the second of this season series to be at Holly Ward Gymnasium off of Highway 75.

Dewey dominated the first two meetings. The Bulldoggers beat the Trojans in Dewey on Jan. 17, 56-33, and then again in Ramona to take fifth place of the Caney Valley Tournament on Jan. 25, 69-51.

Despite the lopsided results for Dewey, head coach Lance Knight knows the difficulty of beating a team three times.

The Bulldoggers enter the game with a record of 10-8. They beat Nowata on Tuesday, 55-45.

The Caney Valley Trojans enter the game with a record of 4-15 and have lost their last four games. They fell to Oklahoma Union on Tuesday in a defensive battle, 40-26. Even though this season hasn’t produced the ideal results for the Trojans, head coach Tug Brinker says his guys are growing and getting better.

The Dewey girls also look for the season sweep of Caney Valley after beating the Lady Trojans in Dewey back in January, 42-26.

The girls game will tip-off first at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
