It will be the spring sports season before you know it.

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball has already kicked off its season. Small high school baseball will start within two weeks, while Bartlesville High baseball has its first scrimmages in a bit more than a week with games a couple weeks after.

The Bruins lose their top two players from last year in Brenden Asher and Brett Eaves but return most of the rest of the lineup and three of their top four pitchers. BHS finished 13-22 but got another Regional win against No. 1 seed Union in the process.

Head coach Cody Price is in his sixth season in Bartlesville. He talks about his outlook this spring.

Barrett Merciez is the main pitcher back. Merciez was outstanding as a sophomore District starter last season. He led Bartlesville in innings with 58.1 and had a 2.65 ERA with 42 strikeouts and 22 walks. He went 2-1.

Price talks about his District starter.

More on Bruin baseball planned for the next couple weeks.
