Best of 2024: Ironmen Football Resurgence
As we take a look back at the year that was, we go over to Nowata County and look at the Ironmen football team, who made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Nowata finished the year at 3-8, but that included three district wins so the Ironmen were able to qualify for the playoffs.
A first round loss to Rejoice Christian didn't spoil what was a great season for Nowata, but Coach Chance Juby said his team was left wanting more.
Nowata won its first three district games of the year and heading into the most exciting win of the three, that being a 22-20 win over Morrison, here is Juby on how well is team was playing following back-to-back wins over Caney Valley and Quapaw.
The Ironmen will lose three year starting quarterback Trevor Emberson, along with Jerome Jackson, who was the Defensive MVP in Class A-1 District Three to graduation.
