Bartlesville Falls at Sapulpa
Bartlesville High basketball was swept on the road on Tuesday night at Sapulpa in a Frontier Valley Conference and District double-header.
Neither club came particularly close in the second half after both teams were more competitive in the first.
On the girl’s side first, Bartlesville dug itself in a hole, got out of it, then faltered down the stretch. Sapulpa beat the Lady Bruins, 55-41.
BHS got down 13-1 in the opening minutes of the contest but then came all the way back to take the lead before halftime.
This shot from Kennedy Nubel tied things up late in the second quarter.
BHS would trail by two at halftime but could never grab the lead in the second half. The Bruins fell behind eight in the fourth quarter and never got any closer.
On the guy’s side, a scoreless first quarter ended up being too much to overcome. Bartlesville fell to Sapulpa, 61-22.
It was a 12-0 Chieftain lead after the first, but the Bruins again hung around early. Bartlesville cut the lead down to seven in the final seconds before the halftime break off this offensive rebound.
The second half turned out to be tough, BHS was outscored 42-13.
Both Bartlesville teams are off until Friday when they host Enid for the final game before the Christmas holiday.
