KWON got a chance to preview Friday night’s ConocoPhillips Bowl during Wednesday's Bruin Football Coaches Show at Dinks, as Bartlesville High travels to take on Ponca City for the first time since 2021.

It has been a tough start to 2024 for the Bruins, who enter with a 0-7 record. There has been some roster turnover in recent days, and BHS will have a new starting quarterback on Friday evening.

Freshman Michael Kent will get his first varsity start in the backfield. Kent came into the game against PC North and completed four passes in the fourth quarter last week.

Head coach Harry Wright says Kent had a great attitude against the Panthers, which is exactly what the Bruins needed.

Even with the 0-7 record, Bartlesville still has a good chance at the playoffs and maybe more with three winnable games left on the regular season schedule.

Wright talks about the message to his club heading into Ponca City on Friday night.

6:30 pregame on Friday with a 7:00 kick, Bartlesville at Ponca City.

We will have the Bruins and Wildcats on KWON and KWONTV.com.

We also have the Coaches Show from Wednesday archived on KWONTV.com.
