Tough night on Tuesday for Bartlesville High volleyball, as the Bruins came within an eyelash of a State Tournament berth - but fell short.

Westmoore beat Bartlesville 3-2 in five sets in the Regional Championship match on Tuesday evening at Bruin Field House. The Jaguars won the second, third and fifth sets en route to the Regional title.

Westmoore won the deciding set five 15-7 to move on.

BHS swept through Sand Springs during its first semifinal match, 3-0. Bartlesville had little issue with the Sandites in a sweep.

Westmoore beat Bixby in a reverse sweep to earn the rights to play the Bruins in the title round. After BHS beat the Jags 25-17 in the first set, Westmoore won the next two. Bartlesville showed a stiff upper lip in the fourth set, staying alive and winning 25-17.

Marissa Demuth came alive in the fourth, this block gave the Bruins their 23rd point.

Meanwhile in the fifth set, eight points in a row for Westmoore toward the end of the match would prove to be the difference.

Emry Brown gave BHS some hope with this kill to tie things up early in the fifth.

Bartlesville ends its season at 30-9 and hosted its first Regional in nearly 15 years, BHS will graduate six seniors off this year’s team.
