Quinn Schipper has been appointed to represent Ward 4 on the Bartlesville City Council, replacing the late Billie Roane, who passed away unexpectedly on April 5.

The appointment was made at Monday evening's City Council meeting with a unanimous vote.

Schipper is one of seven applicants who applied to fill the Ward 4 seat. He and his wife, Becky, moved to Bartlesville in June 2020 and have been extremely active in the community, serving on several boards and commissions. Schipper is also the administrator for Republican and Other Conservatives of Washington County.

Although fairly new to the Bartlesville community, Schipper and his wife moved here after 3 years in Denton, Texas and Stillwater for 23 years. He is an ordained minister and served in the mission field for 10 years planting churches in New Zealand.

Schipper is also an accomplished author, writing six books on disassociation disorder, faith, forgiveness and self-help. He also studied at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, knew the Price family and is a docent at the Price Tower Arts Center.

He says the opportunity to serve the residents of Ward 4 and citizens of Bartlesville as a whole is a blessing for him.

Schipper will serve Roane's remaining term through this year. He has already said he is committed to the position and will run for election in November of this year.
