A former Bartlesville High football assistant has nabbed a NCAA D-II head coaching gig in Oklahoma.

Andrew Rice, who was the Bruin’s offensive coordinator in 2015 and 2016 under John McKee has been hired as the head man at Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford. Rice becomes the 25th head coach in Southwestern’s history.

Rice helped a Bruin offense in 2015 that was among some of the best in the state.

After another stop at Miami High School in 2017, Rice has bounced around the college ranks as OC at NEO, UCO and Southern Arkansas before being tabbed as the Bulldogs head coach.

SWOSU is coming off a 4-7 season under former head coach Josh Kirkland, who left to become the director of player personnel at North Texas.
