Enid Sweeps Bruins in District Double-Header
Bartlesville High boys’ and girls’ basketball played on the road at Enid, in their third straight road trip of over two hours to begin District play.
Both BHS teams battled but fell on Tuesday night.
On the girl’s side, BHS would run out of steam in the fourth quarter. Enid topped BHS 49-45. Bartlesville trailed the entire second half, but mostly by only one possession. Enid was up by one at half and never trailed again.
The Pacers would increase their lead to nine late in the fourth, but the Bruins would not go away. Bartlesville cut the lead to two on this Mikka Chambers and one with about one minute left.
Bartlesville would get another steal and had a shot in the air to tie it, but it would not go down. BHS falls to 2-3 on the girl’s side.
Meanwhile the Bruin guys played a good first half, but turnovers led to a 71-45 Enid Plainsmen win.
BHS was down only four at halftime and led for a good portion of the first half, but after giving up only 26 in the first two quarters, Enid scored 45 in the second half.
Bartlesville would get up by a few possessions early in the second quarter, again with good shooting from beyond the arc.
Bruin guys are 1-3. Both clubs are off until Tuesday of next week, which will be their last games before Winter Break.
