Dewey and Nowata hit the hardwood on Friday night for the first of two editions of the Adam Hooper Bowl this season. On the girls side, Nowata bounced back after a Tuesday loss to Fairland to win 44-35. Lady Bulldoggers fall to 0-1 and Lady Ironmen move to 1-1.

On the guys side, it was a thrilling matchup that lived up to the rivalry. Dewey would hold on to beat Nowata 70-67 in a contest where they lead essentially the entire game.

This game would come down to some big moments late as it was 52-47 heading into the fourth quarter. Ryder Muninger led all scorers on the evening with 24-points, and 18 of those coming via the three ball. This one was the final dagger for the Bulldoggers.

Kaleb Bashford for Nowata was not going to let the ship go down with a fight as he finished with a team-high 22 for Nowata. He hit this three ball to answer Muningers.

It would not be enough though as Dewey would hold on for the three-point victory to win the Adam Hooper Bowl. Dewey moves to 1-0 and is next in action in the Adair tournament next week. For Nowata, they fall to 0-2 as they wait for a Tuesday matchup with Rejoice Christian at home for the Ty Hewitt Tournament.
