BRTA Approves $200K Incentive for Kiddie Park Expansion

The Bartlesville Redevelopment Trust Authority approves a nearly $200,000 incentive for infrastructure at the expanded Kiddie Park.
The $199,800 incentive, approved during a Wednesday meeting, will assist in funding new electric service for the expanded area, paving, new park lighting and landscaping in the area just northeast of the existing Kiddie Park footprint.
Friends of Kiddie Park Board Chairman Ken Johnson says the new infrastructure will support five new rides at the amusement park that are better sized for older children and families.
The new rides include an larger roller coaster called the “Dragon Coaster,” a 30-foot-tall slide, the “Dizzy Dragons,” an “Octopus,” and a larger ferris wheel that was featured in a movie.
All the rides have been purchased and some concrete pads have been poured. The total cost of the expansion is $2.7 million and the Kiddie Park has reportedly already raised $1.3 million.
