Wrapping up 2024 Bruin Baseball

Bartlesville High baseball wrapped up an up-and-down season with a young group of Bruins a couple of weeks ago.

BHS finished 2024 at 13-22. Bartlesville struggled on offense throughout most of the season.

The main highlight of the year came late. Brenden Asher flexed his muscles one last time as a Bruin. Asher threw a complete game one-run winner against Union to knock off the Redhawks as a one-seed in its own Regional. It was the second straight season BHS beat Union in the postseason.

Head coach Cody Price talks about the big Bruin win.

Pitching was a highlight all year. Asher continued his tear as one of the state’s best starters. Meanwhile Bartlesville found something in sophomore Barrett Merciez. Merciez was just named to the Oklahoma State Games. Kaden Romesburg was also a force as a third starter and out of the bullpen.

The hitting was a different story, Price talks about adjustments after a tough year at the plate.

Bartlesville will lose a little under half of its starting lineup but does return two of its top three starters and about five full-time position players for 2025.
