Wesleyan Christian in B Regionals

The Wesleyan Christian School boys basketball team still have its eyes on the big house but faces its first big challenge on Thursday night.

WCS takes on Timberlake in Covington-Douglas.

This is a first round winner’s bracket Regional game in Class B, meaning it is a non-elimination contest. WCS ran through Shidler and Welch en route to a District win in Bartlesville over the weekend.

Head coach Steven Cooks talks about the challenge his club will face in Timberlake.

In the win over Welch on Saturday Cooks says his team was still able to grind through a blowout victory with extra effort. WCS beat Welch 55-21.

Cooks talks about what WCS will have to do better to have success this weekend.

Wesleyan Christian would move to the Regional championship game and assure itself a spot in the Area Tournament with a win. Lose and WCS would have to work itself back from the loser’s bracket.

A 7:30 tip on Thursday against Timberlake. The Regional finals will be this weekend in Frontier. Frontier takes on Kremlin-Hillsdale in the game opposite WCS and Timberlake also on Thursday evening.
