Tribe Rolls into Semifinals in Mountain Home

The Doenges Ford Indians will have a chance to win the Mountain Home, Arkansas Twin Lakes Classic for the first time in three years, as the Indians qualified for bracket play of the event on Sunday.

B’Ville got there via an 11-3 run-rule victory over Mountain Home MacLeod on Saturday afternoon. Bartlesville took advantage of 14 walks, three HBPs and two MacLeod errors.

The Indians big blow came from Luke Fox. The former Bruin hit a double down the first base line to score two. A Mountain Home error let the game-ending run cross the plate for the eight-run advantage.

Manger John Pannell opted for a younger lineup against the younger Mt. Home club – and it mostly paid off. Contributions from Liam Buchannan, Bryce Leulf, Eli Winters and Zane Stricklin all helped the Tribe get the win.

This double-play turned by Winters ended the game.

With the win the Indians improve to 13-4 on the year.

Bartlesville will now play Pontotoc, Mississippi in the second of two semifinal games in the tournament at 1:15 on Sunday afternoon. A game we will air on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 with video coverage on KWONTV.com.

The other semifinal at 11:00 AM features Mountain Home Lockerroom and Paragould, Arkansas. Winners play for the title around 3:30 on Sunday afternoon.
