Pawhuska, Oklahoma Union and Copan were all winners on Friday night in high school football. Bartlesville, Dewey, Nowata, Caney Valley and Barnsdall all fell in Week One action this past weekend.

For the Bruins, a comeback fell short. Bartlesville got down by 16 points but had two chances to take the lead in the second half. Ultimately Claremore topped BHS 35-33. Bartlesville has begun the season at 0-2.

After the game, head coach Harry Wright shared his message with the team.

For the first time in many years, the Bruins have a bye-week. Nearly two weeks to work on things for BHS before its next game at home against Collinsville on Friday, Sept. 20.
