The Historic Season for Oklahoma Wesleyan Basketball

It was an historic run for Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball this season, as the Eagles for the second time in their history made a national championship game.

OKWU finished the season 28-8 and captured a regular season KCAC conference championship for the fourth year in a row in the process. The Eagles fell short in the national championship game to the College of Idaho.

Head coach Donnie Bostwick puts into perspective what drove his group to make history.

OKWU was led by two All-Americans this year in Derrick Talton Jr. and Jaden Lietzke. Talton Jr. was a first team All-American for his second selection of his career while Lietzke landed his fourth All-American selection this season.

The Eagles are also losing an all-conference guard in Dylan Philip next season.

Despite losing those three pieces for next season, Bostwick still gets excited for the future.

Congratulations once again to an incredible season from the Oklahoma Wesleyan men's basketball team, the 2024-25 NAIA National Runner-Up.
