A big-time college commitment came out over the weekend.

Congrats to Bartlesville High girls’ basketball standout Sami Sheaffer, who has committed to continue her basketball career at Central Arkansas.

Sheaffer was Bartlesville’s leading scorer this past winter as a junior. It was her first season as a Lady Bruin, as she was a former member of Oklahoma Union and a homeschool team her first two high school seasons.

A year ago, Sheaffer averaged about 13-points-per-game on a BHS team that finished 13-12 with a loss to Westmoore in the 6A Regionals.

Head coach Justyn Shaw talks about Sheaffer’s progression this offseason before her senior campaign.

Sheaffer, Emma Zimmerman and Kenzie Denny all return as main contributors for Bartlesville, although the Lady Bruins graduated two seniors off last year’s team.

Central Arkansas is an NCAA Division 1 basketball school playing in the Atlantic Sun. Sheaffer had both both D1 and several D2 offers before the commitment.
