Nowata Ironmen golf qualified for the 2A state tournament to wrap up the 2026 campaign.

As a team, Nowata finished eighth on the leaderboard. After a first round that didn't break their way, the Ironmen turned things around in the final round. They had the sixth best final round as a team, led by Jackson Hurd. Hurd shot a 73 in the final round, the fifth best individual score of the day.

After a practice round in unfavorable conditions, head coach Homer Johnston talks about the team's performance through the tournament.

Going into next season, Nowata graduates two impactful golfers in Hurd and Brett Malone. Both of them will continue their golf careers at Coffeyville Community College. CCC is led by former Nowata Ironman William Wilson.

Johnston talks about returning golfers on the boy's side.

Nowata qualifying the team for the state tournament comes after they qualified just one golfer in last year's state tournament. The Ironmen finished as a regional runner-up to automatically qualify the team for the tournament.
