Possibile New Name for Big 12
No new news on a possible new name for the Big 12 Conference, as news leaked late last week that Commissioner Brett Yormark and the conference members are considering selling the naming rights to the conference.
According to reports from college sports insider Brett McMurphy of the Action Network, Allstate Insurance is the leader in the clubhouse. Meaning the conference would be referred to as the “Allstate 12”
If it ended up happening and the numbers reported are correct, it would generate about three-million dollars a year in extra revenue per member institution.
There are also reports that the American Athletic Conference, where Tulsa resides, Conference USA and others have investigated selling their naming rights, as well.
