Pawhuska Gets Senior Night Sweep of Pawnee
It was a senior night sweep for Pawhuska on Tuesday night, as both teams defeated Pawnee in nail-biting fashion.
The Lady Huskies led for a vast majority of a game that they would hang on to win, 45-42. Their biggest lead stood at 12 in the fourth quarter thanks in part to a second chance opportunity from senior Fallon Bowman. It was fellow senior Shanell Cochrane who took advantage.
Pawnee didn't go away easy, though. Pawhuska led by only three with five seconds remaining when Hannah Reynolds made this defensive play to seal the victory for Pawhuska.
Bowman led all scorers, finishing with 16 points. In the victory, the senior eclipsed 1,000 points and 800 rebounds.
There was much the same drama when the boy's took to the floor, as it was Pawhuska that came away in that one with a 46-42 win. Both teams traded the lead back and forth, but it was Pawhuska that needed to cut into a 30-24 deficit heading into the fourth quarter.
After turning up the pressure defensively, this three-pointer by sophomore Dax Godsey midway through the fourth quarter tied the game and got Pawhuska rolling.
Senior Trenton Miles and Dax Godsey finished in double figures for Pawhuska.
