Patriot Athlete of the Week: Whitlie Tennison

It is another Monday, which means we have another Patriot Auto Area Athlete of the Week, as we are continuing to talk winter sports across the area.
This week we get a Wesleyan Christian School Lady Mustang girls’ basketball and volleyball star Whitlie Tennison.
Tennison has gone to WCS off and on since elementary school, and she has been with the high school since her sophomore year.
WCS went through a period where the Lady Mustangs did not have enough players to field a team. Last season they played with a short bench, but this year there are finally enough players to have multiple substitutes.
Wesleyan Christian is off to a fantastic start. The Lady Mustangs are 7-1 with their only loss coming to Caney Valley in the finals of the Copan Shootout.
Tennison says having deeper bench is big for this year’s team.
Tennison talking about WCS HC Kendall Huntington.
Whitlie says she also enjoyed getting to play volleyball, as well and mentioned how much fun it was to reach the Regional title round this past fall. However, she enjoys basketball as her favorite sport and has played since she was five.
Tennison talks about her future when she graduates in May.
Congrats to Whitlie Tennison, this week’s Patriot Auto Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.
