Patriot Athlete of the Week: Lydia Foster

We are into the school year across the state, and today is the first Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week.

Every Monday from now until the end of the school year we will feature an outstanding athlete across Northeast Oklahoma.

This week we will feature Wesleyan Christian School volleyball standout Lydia Foster.

Foster is a senior with the Mustangs. She has been at WCS playing volleyball since seventh grade. Foster and WCS volleyball are coming off the school’s first-ever State Tournament appearance in any sport during the 2023-24 school year.

Foster talks about what it was like going to state.

Mariah Cooks has been Foster’s coach at Wesleyan since she began her school volleyball career and is her current high school coach.

Foster talks glowingly about her head coach.

Foster gave a ton of credit to her family for her success on and off the court, as well. Her dad Nick, mom Amy and brother Grant have all been a big part of her playing sports.

Foster talks about her family.

Both of her parents are nurses. Lydia says she wants to be a nurse, too. She will try to play volleyball in college, but if not, she will head to Rogers State next year.

Foster is a basketball player with the Mustangs, too.

Congrats to Lydia Foster, our Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the week, powered by Tri County Tech.
