Patriot Athlete of the Week: Klayton Bastings
Another Monday means we have another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of The Week. This week we get into our spring sports athletes with Bartlesville High soccer.
Bruin soccer standout Klayton Bastings gets the honor this week. Bastings is Bartlesville’s goalie. He has been playing soccer for 14 years.
Bastings details his soccer career.
As far as his current position, Bastings says he is a fan of being the keeper. He says the key to his success as the final guy left on Bartlesville’s defense is to try to not think about it too much.

Bartlesville soccer is off to an 0-3 start on the guy’s side. Bartlesville has close losses to Union and Ponca City. The Bruins will have a chance to get their first win of the season on Tuesday against Bishop Kelley in another double-header at Custer Stadium.
As far as outside of soccer, Bastings says he is enjoying his current internship at ConocoPhillips, where he says he may have a career when he is done with high school.
