OU and OK-State Fall in BSB Regionals

Two crucial college baseball games and two losses for our in-state clubs on Monday.

Let’s start in Stillwater first, where Oklahoma State fell in its own Regional for the third straight season. Cowboys fell to Florida for the second time in back-to-back games at O’Brate Stadium. Gators topped the Pokes on Monday afternoon, 4-2.

Oklahoma State tallied only six hits and was shut down in the late innings.

Head coach Josh Holliday talks about the loss.

Oklahoma State did not get a baserunner over the final three frames. Despite hosting a Regional or Super Regional seven times over the past 12 years, the Cowboys only have one College World Series berth in that span.

Meanwhile things did not go much better in Norman, as OU fell in its Regional final to UCONN on Monday night.

Huskies beat the Sooners, 7-1. Oklahoma also struggled with the bats. Connecticut started Gabe Van Emon, who entered with a 6.71 ERA, threw 7.1 scoreless against the Sooners. It was 7-0 Huskies when he finally exited.

OU wraps up its season in the Regional round for the second straight season, as well.
