The Oologah boys basketball team kept its postseason hopes alive with a 62-51 win over Wagoner on Thursday night. The victory advances Oologah to a 2:30 p.m. matchup Friday against Holland Hall at Verdigris, with a spot in Saturday’s round on the line. A win would move Oologah into a game against either Grove or Miami.

“We are excited to still be alive,” Oologah boys head coach Caleb Branscum said. “Today will be a very tall task for us. Holland Hall is a very good basketball team and they’ve played a very tough schedule, still managing to win eight of their last 10. We are going to go give it all we’ve got.” Holland Hall enters the contest having won eight of its past 10 games.

The Oologah girls team will also be in action Friday, facing Inola at 6 p.m. at Verdigris. The Lady Mustangs are looking to rebound after a loss to Lincoln Christian on Tuesday. Head coach Clif Warford said he feels confident in his team’s chances against Inola. A victory would send the girls into Saturday’s round against the winner of Grove or Wagoner.
