The OKWU women’s soccer team was picked to win the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday afternoon.

The conference held its preseason media days with all the coaches and released their preseason poll on Wednesday.

The Lady Eagles got 13 of the 14 first place votes and are picked to finish ahead of Ottawa, as the Braves are No. 2 in the poll. That is the same top two as the men’s soccer poll, which came out late last week.

Head coach Ivan Ristic gave his preview of the club during the media days.

Last year’s OKWU women’s team won the KCAC with an 11-0-2 record, going 15-3-3 in route to the NAIA National Tournament.

First match of the season for OKWU will be on Aug. 24.
