Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s and men’s basketball both got back to town about 4:00 on Thursday morning. The late arrival feels better after a couple wins.

OKWU swept York, Nebraska in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night.

Eagle women beat York 75-70. Victory gives OKWU four wins in its last seven. Lady Eagles improve to 9-16 overall and are in No. 10 in the conference at 7-12.

Meanwhile the men had a tough time with a below .500 York club. Wesleyan hung on for an 88-86 victory.

OKWU withstood a 16-31 three-point shooting night from York. Eagles only shot 8-21 from the free throw line. However, they grabbed 17 offensive rebounds for 24 second chance points. DJ Talton Jr. lead the way with 18 points.

Wesleyan men have won 16 straight and are 24-1 on the year. OKWU still owns a two-game lead in the KCAC with three to play.

Both teams host Avila in Bartlesville at 2:00 and 4:00 on Saturday afternoon.
