OKWU finds success in home national tournament matches

It was a huge weekend for Oklahoma Wesleyan University athletics, with three teams hosting NAIA National Tournament games on Saturday, and two more on the road in KCAC contests.

Let's start with volleyball at the Mueller Sports Center as OKWU swept Indiana East 3-0 by winning 25-16, 28-26, 25-22.

Former Bartlesville Bruin Sidney Collins led all players with 37 assists, Evelyn Rohrberg led the Lady Eagles with 14 kills. Pairings for their next match was not available as of this story.
In soccer, OKWU men blanked Carroll College 4-0 at the OKWU soccer complex on Saturday to advance to the next round of the National Tournament. Matheus Ulrich scored a pair of goals for the Eagles, who outshot Carroll 20-1 in the win.

In a tough loss, the OKWU ladies just fell short to MidAmerican Nazarene 1-0 after a game winning goal in the 28th minute. OKWU outshot MNU 21-7 but could not find the back of the net as their season ended in the 1st Round of the NAIA National Tournament on Saturday. A magical season ends for OKWU with their only loss of the season at Nationals, OKWU finishes 16-1-4 on the season.
