OKWU Beats USAO in Paycom Center Thriller

It was an entertaining ballgame at the Paycom Center on Friday, as Oklahoma Wesleyan pulled one out against the University of Science and Arts (OK).
The Eagles beat the Drovers, 82-78.
Offensively, OKWU struggled early. The Eagles had nine points about midway through the first half and trailed, 20-9. OKWU stormed back and tied the game at 21, thanks to this three-pointer from Angel Hidalgos.
The Eagles trailed at halftime, 39-35.
In the second half, the Eagles tightened up defensively and forced seven turnovers in just over seven minutes of game time. They started the second half on a 12-0 run and grew a lead into double-digits.
Nick Bene led the way in scoring with 19 points, including this big bucket to end a 7-0 USAO run, and give OKWU a 67-65 lead in the final six minutes.
The Eagles hung on down the stretch thanks to free throw shooting.
The win puts OKWU at 7-1 overall and extends the current win streak to six games. Next up is Avila University in Kansas City on Wednesday. That game can be heard on Sports Talk, 99.1 FM - KPGM.
