OKWU Basketball had a home double header on Saturday afternoon as the Eagles and Lady Eagles played host to Southwestern. Starting with the girls, the Lady Eagles found themselves in a dog fight that again would come down to the fourth quarter outcome.

Eagles would outscore the Lady Moundbuilders 35-30 in the second half to walk away with a 70-66 win. Here was the sound of the final buzzer.

River Jeffries and Rashaun Smith led the ladies with 12-points a piece as OKWU nabs their first conference win of the season.

On the guys side, they would taste defeat for the first time this season. The guys got down early and would never crawl back into it as they fell, 79-67.

The story of the day was how well Southwestern shot the ball, as they made 16 three point shots. They lead the Eagles 39-26 at the half, but Wesleyan would make a run in the second half to cut it back down to nine.

This three ball from Amari Woods helped the Eagles on that run.

Southwestern always had the response and kept the Eagles at bay and grabbed a win to stay undefeated.Jaden Lietzke and DJ Talton Jr. did all they could to keep Wesleyan in it as Lietzke finished with 19-points with Talton falling right behind with 17.

Eagles move to 8-1 and 3-1 in KCAC play, both squads are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Tabor College.
